Which Olympic medalists do you admire the most and why?

Ms. Tonya Harding

As a young girl, Tonya Harding focused almost all of her time and energy on perfecting her figure skating skills so that she may one day compete at the highest levels. She dropped out of high school to focus on improving her abilities, a decision that would pay off in the near future. The two-time Olympian is the only woman to ever complete the impossible triple Axel. She is the winner of five gold medals. After pleading guilty to obstructing the case against her for helping her ex-husband pay someone to harm her skating rival, Nancy Kerrigan, she was banned for life. Since then, she’s pursued a career in professional boxing, where she currently holds a 3-3 mark.

George Foreman

In seeing George Foreman punch the bag, you might have thought he could fell a tree with his bare hands, such were the size of his gigantic fists. “Big George” took home the gold in boxing at the 1968 Summer Games in Mexico City. After his 1974 boxing match with Muhammad Ali, known as the “Rumble in the Jungle,” he gained even greater notoriety. More than a million George Foreman Grills have been sold thanks to his efforts as a marketer and ambassador. For the honour of having his name on the grill, he received $138 million in 1999.
