Drunk Dad
We have a lot of embarrassing wedding stories. In one of these stories, the groom’s dad showed up drunk. He wasn’t just drunk; he was also dirty and wore blue pants and a t-shirt. He then started to bother other people.
He told the groomsmen to stop getting ready. Among other things, why did they dress up? He then drank too much alcohol and got very drunk. In another case, the bride’s mother brings her own alcohol to the wedding. She is drunk before the reception even starts. She, of course, makes a lot of noise.
Church Endeavors
We heard that things got better when the Catholic church started to get involved in marriages. A big number of divorce cases were thrown out. Men started to take care of their wives as well. There were also fewer fights, and people were more loyal to their partners. On the other hand, the church taught that the husband was the head of the home, which was a terrible thing to teach. They also said that wives should be modest and follow their husbands’ orders. Some people did not agree with this. But now they say that marriage should be thought of as a partnership.
