Marriage Licenses
Even in this day and age of progress, it’s amazing how hard it is for a couple to get a marriage licence. Hollywood does not do this story any justice at all. It’s enough to make a couple feel sick to their stomachs. We heard a strange story that some government clerks wouldn’t give licences to people whose last names had hyphens. Seriously? You’d think they wouldn’t take a job that didn’t fit with who they are. But that’s not the case!
Mistakes Were Made
It looks like this couple’s wedding won’t go as well as it could. So, what happened? It turned out that two couples had made plans for the same time and place for their weddings. In one of the processions, a bagpipe was played, and in the other, a trumpet was played. In the end, the two sides came to an agreement. The other person lost 20 minutes of their time because of this delay. So, the ceremonies started, and the bagpipes started playing as the officiant said, “Ladies and gentlemen, we’re all here today.” This completely drowned out the ceremony of the other group. Yikes!
