Since 2012, a band of seasoned Burners and curious newcomers have taken on the responsibility of transporting tanks of liquid nitrogen to the desert as presents for the residents of Black Rock City. Traders in frozen treats spent a year studying how to bring massive cryogenic tanks to the Playa and, more significantly, how to produce the frozen treat by hand in the scorching heat of the desert. Strawberry Margarita sorbet, Black Rock Rum Raisin ice cream, and the most unusual flavour of them, Burning Breakfast ice cream made with whiskey and bacon, are just a few of the creative concoctions available at Icecycle Creamery.
