A Memorial Site
The welcoming and unrestricted group that gets together every year takes care of everyone. An exclusive space has been set aside for those among the Burning Man community who are experiencing grief. Each year, renowned Burning Man artist David Best erects a temple for the sole use of those in mourning. Those in the community who have lost loved ones are encouraged to visit the temple and offer a letter of condolence. Along with the letters, the temple is torched as part of the event’s climactic ceremony. Some Burners who have experienced the loss of a loved one have even used the ceremony to scatter the remains of their deceased companions.
An Eternally Happy Marriage-Bonding Spot
If a Burner wants to be married in the middle of the desert, Big Rock City is the place to do it. Countless residents of the desert metropolis have told tales of their own personal moments of magic and mystery. Fees are only $60 per couple, and all you need to bring along is identification. The best time to get a marriage licence is on the way to Burning Man, so stop by the office of the Pershing County Clerk. At Burning Man, anything goes. Feel free to get as imaginative as you’d like when designing the ceremony.
