Some of Hollywood’s Most-Paused Scenes

It’s Official: The Graduate (1967)

The narrative of a young man who returns to live with his parents after finishing college is told in the Oscar-winning film “The Graduate,” in which Dustin Hoffman gives a career-defining performance. Benjamin Braddock, portrayed by Hoffman, is a lost soul who falls for Mrs. Robinson, a woman who is twice his age. While the film’s progressive plot may have caused mayhem when it was released in 1967, it also gave us one of the most stopped scenes in cinematic history, where Mrs. Robinson locks Ben in a room and strips naked.

Movies Like Teen Wolf (1985)

Although “Teen Wolf” was intended to be a family film, millions of people may have a problem with a specific sequence just minutes before the final credits. A moment towards the beginning of the film where an extra’s pants and underpants are around his ankles is pause-worthy and gasp-inducing. The camera captures a glimpse of the jubilant bleacher audience right after Michael J. Fox’s character, Scott Howard, wins the basketball game. Oops! I can’t believe that wasn’t cut out before release.
