The Demon-Haunting of Exorcist (1973)
The Exorcist is one of the best ever horror film made. The transformation of Linda Blair’s portrayal from a kind, innocent child to a completely possessed demon is remarkable. There are gimmicks in the movie that will make you want to pause it. The appearance of the demon Pazuzu is one of the more blatant examples of such situations. In a flash, the owner’s face is shown, and naturally, onlookers halt to examine it more closely.
Steel Man (2008)
You’ll need to pay very close attention to the next one. The “Iron Man” movies were among the earliest entries in what would become the contemporary superhero genre. Not only that, but it’s also famous for being one of the most paused scenes in film. Exactly at what point in the Marvel film did they stop to take a breather? Part of Captain America’s shield is displayed for our viewing pleasure. Even as Tony Stark’s robot was dismantling him, we could make out the guard in the backdrop.
