Some of Hollywood’s Most-Paused Scenes

The Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)

Aside from Rami Malek’s fantastic performance as rock icon Freddie Mercury, there were plenty of other reasons to see this film. The Oscar-winning movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” is included because of a cameo appearance that is easy to miss if you don’t take a moment to look for it. Even though it happens too fast to be noticed, singer Adam Lambert plays the role of the trucker with whom Mercury falls in love.

“Fast Times” at Ridgemont High (1982)

One of the most halted scenes in film history may be found in “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” which is not the best film ever made. Linda Barrett, played by Phoebe Cates, dons a red bikini for a dip in her friend’s pool. When Linda ultimately climbs the steps and gets out of the water, it’s the one moment in the film—and possibly in cinematic history—that causes the longest pause and causes spectators’ jaws to hit the floor.
