Gary Burghoff has a “Deformed Hand”
For those who have been paying attention, MASH was very careful to conceal Radar O’Reilly’s left hand. The deformity of the actor, Gary Burghoff’s hand, is a result of his being born with brachydactyly. As unfortunate as it is, Gary found it necessary to conceal his deformed hand when working in Hollywood, most notably during filming MASH, where such a person would have been disqualified from military service.
Mismatched Ears: Gerard Butler
Gerard Butler’s physical abnormality is so slight that he may have lived with it for years before becoming aware of it. This actor had surgery when he was young, and ever since then he’s had a noticeable deformity in one of his ears. Gerard has never seen a difference because he wears his hair long most of the time. Shaving his head for Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life was when he first noticed the discrepancy between his ears and the rest of his head. Because of this, Hollywood decided to tape one of his ears back so that the star would still seem perfect.
