Self-defense
Some parents are surprised when their children begin to block their blows after years of abuse. They interpret their child’s reaction as an offensive behavior, rather than a form of self-defense. They are, after all, the all-powerful parents. How dare their child attempt to protect themselves from their assault. When they learn that their child is a self-aware, thinking human being who experiences pain, their world is turned upside down.
At the very least, it isn’t a drug dealer
Without even recognizing it, parents frequently reinforce social and cultural prejudices. They do it under the pretense of attempting to safeguard their children. This person may have been justifiably enraged at being accused of being a human trafficker solely because they were Asian. Instead, they were considerate enough to create a joke out of the circumstance. Because, unfortunately, disparaging stereotypes are probably all too prevalent for this person, and at least this one was different.
