The Amish Way of Courtship
The Amish have a lot to teach modern society, especially when it comes to courtship practices. There are extremely few unmarried guys in the Amish community. Why? To keep their lineages healthy, they have courtship norms that everyone follows. You are expected to take the lead in the courtship process if you are an Amish male. Courtship takes time. The practice begins in their late teens and continues until their early twenties. Males will demonstrate their affection for an Amish lady by transporting her and her family to church in his horse and cart. After then, the couple will have to write to each other for a year before the guy can ask for the woman’s hand in marriage.
It is acceptable to sleep together before to marriage
The Amish allow potential mates to sleep together before marriage. The only catch is that they are not allowed to touch each other when sharing a bed. This practice, known as bundling, has been practiced for decades. An unmarried man and woman can share a room for the entire night. A divider, however, is required to separate the two. They must also be fully clothed at all times during the night. They are not also required to sleep. Instead, they should converse from nightfall till dawn.
