Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball
Both Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz exhibited courage. In the 1940s, getting married to a white woman by a Cuban Latino guy was frowned upon. Doors refused to open for them as a comedic duo when they pitched gigs. When they finally launched their studio, “I Love Lucy” quickly rose to prominence as one of television’s most recognizable comedies. Desilu Productions enjoyed enormous success. For instance, “Star Trek” was attacked. Sadly, Desi had an affair with his wife. He continued, acting as if it were his right, and she resisted by turning her head. They were married for 20 years before divorcing in 1960.
