Cecilia Hart and James Earl Jones
Playing antagonists in a 1979 TV series, James Earl Jones and Cecilia Hart got to know one another for the first time. However, Jones played her Desdemona in a 1982 Broadway production of “Othello,” and that is when they got married. The guy who provided the voice of Darth Vader and played numerous other parts endured racism his whole life. Much of it resonated with me. His grandma was racist and nurtured him. Interracial discrimination also affected Jones and the actress Cecilia. Up to her divorce at age 68, they were married for 34 years.
