Although they had first met in high school, Paul Wall, a rapper, songwriter, D.J., and actor from Houston, started dating Crystal when they were both 21. They dated for a while before getting married and had two kids. They credit their strong relationship to a shared appreciation of music. Crystal sings country music and teaches exercise. Paul has acknowledged that his wife’s race causes him to experience discomfort. Although racism is expected where he lives in Texas, he claims that visiting the east coast exposes him to much more unpleasant looks and remarks.
