The Oscars’ Most Embarrassing Moment
Whenever you’re acting, you’re on stage, but the Oscars are the granddaddy of all red carpets. While introducing Idina Menzel and Adele Dazeem in 2014, Travolta managed to make a fool of himself. Surely at this point he has mastered reading and autocueing. As a gesture of contrition, he sent the singer a huge bouquet of flowers, but he was able to shrug off the criticism he received. His apology was accepted, but the next year, Menzel turned the tables on him by introducing him as “Glom Gazino.” The audience laughed heartily, but things got awkward when he joined her on stage and caressed her face. No one knew what was happening, but they accepted it in stride anyhow.
