As the old adage goes, “the wicked shall never rest,” and Travolta certainly didn’t. Travolta started production on Grease only four days after wrapping on Saturday Night Fever. He was obviously eager to start working on 1978’s biggest smash at the box office. Travolta was already grieving the death of his lover, Diana Hyland, when this happened. Director Randal Kleiser of Grease claims that John Travolta kept saying “dump” instead of “hot lap trials” when he was supposed to be lip-syncing the lines. Travolta, being the consummate professional that he is, ultimately mastered the art of lip syncing.
