She sued National Enquirer for $20M

René Angélil was a music producer and talent manager who was diagnosed with throat cancer. He had a heart attack a few years before being diagnosed with cancer. The singer took a break from her profession to assist her husband recover. Due to her prominence, newspapers and magazines kept asking about her during her hiatus. Some dishonest media businesses capitalised on Céline’s unexpected departure. Céline learned in 2000 that the National Enquirer published a bogus story about her and René, who just recovered from throat cancer. The publication misquoted her, printing “Céline — ‘I’m Pregnant With Twins!'” She sued for $20 million. The magazine issued a thorough apology, retracted the piece, and donated to the American Cancer Society in her husband’s honour. Her lawsuit was dropped.
Céline won many awards over her career
Céline Dion’s success went beyond singing. She won Eurovision and several Grammys for her performance and albums.
