As a result of a broken back, Jackie Chan had to retire.
One actor has suffered more than his share of on-set injuries. It appears that every portion of Jackie Chan’s body got shattered or injured during filming, making his injury history an excellent case study for an anatomy class. Chan intended to perform a stunt in which he jumped off a roof and slid down a pole during the production of Police Story. Unfortunately, the stunt caused him serious injury, including a broken back and a dislocated pelvis. This wasn’t the first one of his antics that went tragically wrong.
