Diana Kruger’s performance as film student turned allied spy Bridget Von Hammersmar in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards is a superb example of her acting prowess. Kruger’s performance in a pivotal scene defied all reasonable expectations for an actor (or stand-in). Tarantino himself played the nameless evil guy who chokes Diane Kruger after learning she is a spy in this scene. He got into the role so much that he choked her to the point of unconsciousness while filming.
