A Frozen River Claimed Meryl Streep’s Life
As one of the most accomplished performers in the business, Meryl Streep tested her physical boundaries during production of The Wild River. The Academy Award-winning actress performed most of her own stunts, including one for which she hadn’t trained. Streep performed her final stunt for the director and ended up getting swept into the freezing river. Fortunately, Kevin Bacon, another one of her co-stars, came to the rescue. She was quite thankful after he rescued her from the ocean by pulling her to dry land.
