Lorenza Izzo plays a character in The Green Inferno who is surrounded by cannibals, but she says the most terrifying part of filming was actually something else. Izzo was almost drowned when she was whisked away by the current of the Amazon River in one scene. Izzo awakens on a boat with the cannibals and decides to jump in the river to get away. But the current was too strong, and it nearly swept Izzo under. She screamed for several minutes before the team realised she wasn’t pretending.
