Scarring Sean Bean Forever
The character played by Sean Bean frequently engages in physical altercations throughout Patriot Games. One combat sequence, however, left him with a scar that would serve as a constant reminder of the film throughout his career. There’s a fight on a speedboat between Bean and Harrison Ford’s character. Ford, in the heat of the argument, swung a boating hook at Bean, accidentally striking him in the face. There is a cut on his face from the impact. The wound resulted in a scar that actually works for him because he normally plays a rough character.
