Brendan Fraser’s Scene Hanging Blackout
Among the many risky actions taken by the actors in The Mummy is Brendan Fraser’s character being hanged early on. Fraser’s stunt didn’t go down without a hitch, but the stuntman was fine with it. The production wanted a close-up of Fraser’s face during the gallows sequence, so once Fraser’s stuntman finished his work, he took over. He passed out because the rope was too taut around his neck. When interviewed, Fraser stated he was “completely choked out,” adding that the experience was terrifying.
