A Couple Converted a School Bus Into a DIY Home

The Toilet

Is it possible that this beautiful restroom is on a school bus? We understand. Tawny and Mike picked a sliding door for the entryway and added a full-length mirror to conserve room. The composting toilet and a tiny sink are on the left as you enter. “It’s a wetroom-style bathroom, so everything may get wet in here,” Mike explained. DIYers added Acacia wood floors and cement-finished walls that complement the motorhome’s aesthetic and are completely waterproof. Under the sink is a water heater and a water pump.

The Bathtub and Shower

The bathroom has most likely altered the most since Mike and Tawny initially moved there. The toilet was initially located where the bathtub now is, but the couple relocated it to create place for their much-needed tub. They made everything fit by chopping the sink counter in half and relocating the toilet. The copper showerhead is next to the tub and has built-in shelves on the side for their wash items. These do-it-yourselfers appear to have demonstrated that you may actually have it all while living in a small space. Their bathtub is modest, but it has an incredible quality to it.
